Courses & Training to Start a Keepsake Business: Life Casting and Jewellery Making

As you've landed on this page, it means you are looking into the possibilty of starting your own Keepsake Business and your wondering what training courses you will need to attend? First of all let me say congratulations to you!  Beause, from my own personal experience, starting a Keepsake BusinessLife Casting, or Fingerprint Jewellery Business, is the best thing I have ever done.

Starting a Keepsake Business is a wonderful opportunity and one which I have never looked back on.  Running my own Life Casting and Keepsake Jewellery Business,  has enabled me to raise and provide for my children, independently, as a singe mum for almost two decades.  So, I'm excited for you to be starting out on this wonderful entrepreneurial journey.

Keepsake Business Courses

So, in answer to the question about what training courses you will need to undertake to start a Keepsake Business, that depends upon which type of Keepsake Products you are most interested in making and creating.  Are you more interested in starting a Baby Life Casting Business, Pet Casting Business or Keepake Jewellery Business?  Or maybe, you are interested in offering the full range of Keepsakes?

Regardless, let's look at the training requirements for starting a Life Cating Businss or Keepsake Jewellery Business seperately.

Starting Life Casting Business

If you are interested in starting a Life Casting Business, the type of life Casting training that you will require, will depend up the type and range of Life Casting services that you wish to offer.  For example, you may wish to offer, some or all of the following life casting products and services.

Baby Hand & Feet Casting Courses & Couples Casting Courses

If you are only interested in offering a very limited and basic life casting service, then you only need attend our Baby Casting Course, which covers how to cast babies hands and feet and also covers how to create hands entwined life casts.  These are a really popular addition to Baby Hands and Feet Casts, as they allow you to take a mould and create a 'Couples Casting' of two loved ones, holding hands.  This may be a parent and child holding hands, an engaged or newly married couple, or even two elderly parents or grandparents.  Quite often, our Professional Life Casters are asked to attend hospices, to create couple castings, of someone who may be nearing end of life.  This is, therefore, a wonderul service to be able to offer and a profitable upgrade to the basic baby hand and feet casting.

Family Life Casting Courses

If however, you are interested in extending your Life Casting knowledge and experience further, to offer a wider range of products and services, you may also wish to attend our Family Life Casting Course, where we will teach you how to cast entitre generations of a family, in a circular (wreath of hands) life casting pose.  This is becoming an increasinly popular life casting experience for the whole family and adds additional profit streams to your Life Casting Business.

Metal Cold Casting

If you wish to start a professional and well respected life casting business, I would recommend that as well as learning traditional baby hand and feet casting, that you also learn how to create duplicate copies of  baby casts and upgrade them to Cold Cast Metal, which is a far more high quality and durable medium than plaster.  Whilst it is fine to cast baby hands and feet in plaster, if they are going to be framed, or if you wish to offer the option to your customers, for them to have their baby casts freestanding and mounted on a plinth, I would always recommend that they are upgraded to Cold Cast Metal, which is far more durable.

Metal Cold Casting is a more advanced life casting technique, which involves creating a silicone mould of your orginal plaster baby casts, which you can then upgrade to cold cast metal and create multiple copies from.

Resin Casting

If you really wish to stand out from the Baby Life Casting Competition, I would definitely recommend that you learn how to upgrade your traditional plaster 3D Baby Casts to transulcent Resin. During our Resin Casting Course, we will teach you how to create duplicate copies of your original plaster life casts, in a wide range of beautiful, fused glass effect colours and shades.  The techniques demonstrated, during this ecourse, will take your life casting skills to the next level, extend your product range and delight your customers.

2D Outprints

During our 2D Prints Course, we will teach you how to make a cast of babies hands and feet, in moulding clay, which is then cast to produce a wonderful two dimensional cast, which can then be painted and decorated to achive a variety of different effects and finishes.  This is an extremely popular course and will enable you to extend your life casting skills and offer a wider range of products and services to your customers.

Clay Imprints

This is a wonderful course, for those that wish to offer a wide range of high quality keepsake products and services to their customers.  During our Clay Imprints Course, we will teach you how to work with ceramic clay, to create stunning ceramic clay impressions of baby hands and feet, whch are glazed and kiln fired.  These are extremely popular with customers, as you can create clay impressions, in a wide range of colours, shapes and styles, to suit your customers own personal preference.  Working with clay, rather than plaster to achieve these results, means that you will require a Ceramic Kiln, if you wish to get involved in offering Clay Imprints.

Starting a Fingerprint Jewellery Business (Kepsake Jewellery Business)

If you are interested in starting a Fingerprint Jewellery Business Opportunity and you wish to learn how to make Fingerprint Jewellery and other types of Keepsake Jewellery, there are a wide range of Silver Clay Worshops and Courses that you should consider, as follows:

If you are only interested in offering a very basic and limited Keepsake Jewellery collection, the best place to start woud be to learn how to make Fingerprint Jewellery.  This is an extremely popular keepake product among parents, engaged couples, bride and grooms and people facing end of life or dealing with loss and bereavement. Our Fingerprint Jewellery Training Course, is our foundational Keepake Jewellery Course and should be your starting point, when you are at the beginning of your Keepsake Jewellery Training.  However, we would always recommend that you extend your jewellery making knowledge and skills further, by exploring some of our other Keepsake Jewellery Training Courses, which will then allow you to offer a wider range of produts and services to your customers.

Handprint Jewellery & Artwork Jewellery Training Course

We always recommend that anyone who is looking to start a Fingerprint Jewellery Business Opportunity, should also offer Handprint & Footprint Jewellery and Artwork Jewellery.  The reason for this, is because, quite often a customer will want a piece of Keepake Jewellery made, which will feature their child's fingerprint aswell as their handprint of footprint.  If you only offer fingerprint jewellery, without also offering handprint & footprint jewellery, you will be limiting not only your sales and earninjg potential, but you will risk loosing customers to a competitor, who may offer a wider range of keepake products and services.

Our Handprint & Footprint Jewellery Course, also teaches how to make Artwork Jewellery, which will enable you to offer a profitable upgrade service, to capture the first drawings and artwork of your customers children.  What parent would not wish to capture and immortalise their childs very first drawing?  These are stunningly emotive products, which every parent loves and wants.

Enamelling Silver Clay Keepake Jewellery

Being successful in business, is all about anticipating  the needs of your customers and providing products and services that will excite and delight them.  It's also about positioning yourself above and away from the competition, by being and offering something just that little bit different.  This is why learning how to add a splash of colour to your Keepsake Jewellery, by enamelling Silver Clay Jewellery makes perfect sense.  Many customers love the idea of having their piece of Handprint or Footprint jewellery enamelled to add a beautiful splash of colour.  This is an upgrade course to the Artwork Jewellery and Handprint Jewellery Course, so make sure that you have booked on to that course, first to learn the basics of working with metal clay and how to make fingerprint jewellery and artwork jewellery, before booking onto this more advanced Keepaake jewellery course.

Pandora Style Keepsake Jewellery

In order to ensure that your Keepsake Jewellery Business is succcessful, it's important to stay ahead of fashions and trends.  This is why being able to extend your range of traditional Fingeprint Jewellery and Handprint Jewellery, to be able to offer Pandora style footprint charms and handprint pandora charms is highly recommended.  Pandora Style Jewellery is extremely fashionable and on-trend, with many people owning their own pandora charm bracelets, therefore, customers often ask if they can have customised pandora style footprint charms and handprint pandora charms made to add to their existing Pandora Jewellery. This is why our European Style Bead Jewellery making course is so popular, because, we will teach you how to extend your silver clay jewellery capabilities, to be able to offer keepsake jewellery, beads and charms in the popuar Pandora style.

Tiffany Style Keepsake Jewellery

For much the same reason, that we highly recomend that you learn how to make Pandora Style Keepsake Jewellery, the same applies to learning how to make Tiffany Style Keepsake Jewellery, which is equally as popular with customers.  Often customers will request to have some fingerprint jewellery or handprint jewellery created, in the Tiffany Style, to add to their existing jewellery collection. On our Tiffany Style Keepsake Jewellery course, we will show you exactly how to make Keepsake Jewellery in the popular Tiffany style.

Sterling Silver Fingerprint Jewellery

On our Sterling Silver Fingerprint Jewellery Course, we extend your Silver Clay Jewellery skills and knowledge, by teaching you how to make sterling silver 'flattie style' fingerprint jewellery, which is different to the traditonal fingerprint jewellery making method. On this course, we will help to expand your jewellery making skills, by teaching you how to make silver clay rings, earrings and pendants.

Petals & Pods Keepsake Jewellery

Last but not least, in our Silver Keepake Jewellery Courses, is our Petals & Pods Silver Keepake Jewellery Course, where we teach you more advanced silver clay jewellery making techniques and designs, so that you can add to your keepsake jewellery collection, with delightful Petal & Pods Keepsake Jewellery.  Customers, with large families, love Petal and Pods Jewellery as the peas in each silver pod, represent each of their children, meaning that they can have one high quality and elegant piece of keepsake jewellery made, which symbolises the love and bond of an entire family.
