Unlock Success with Branding & Marketing for Your Baby Casting Keepsake Business

Branding for your Baby Casting Business & Keepsake Jewellery Business

What I have discovered over the past 20 years helping women to start their own Baby Casting Business and Fingerprint Jewellery Business, through my market-leading and world renowned Life Casting Courses and Keepsake Jewellery Courses, is that many people struggle with the concept of Branding and Marketing their new Baby Casting or Keepsake Business.

In fact, what I most commonly witness, is eager and enthusiastic new Baby Casting Business Owners and Keesake Jewellery Business Owners, overlooking the importance of developing a Branding Strategy, in the rush and excitement to get their new business launched.

Rather than taking the time to develop a strong brand identity for their business, many new business owners, rush through the branding process and create what I refer to, as 'accidental branding,’ where they, assume that branding is simply about picking a few nice shapes and colours and throwing them together to form a logo.  Let me tell you, this is always a recipie for disaster!

A well developed Brand Strategy is strategically important to the success of your Business, so never be tempted to rush through it, or do it 'on the quick or cheap.'

The truth is, Branding is about far more than simply picking a few nice shapes and colours to form a logo.  It's about developing the 'feeling' or 'emotion' that customers have, when they see or hear communication about your products and services. It's about the 'experience' that you want your customers to have throughout your customer journey.  So developing a strong brand strategy and brand identity for your Baby Casting or Keepsake Jewellery Business, is vitally imporant.

Branding is important, because...

For example, I had a conversation with a customer recently, who has her own Baby Casting Business. She perceived that her customers ‘turned their nose up’ when she told them the price of her products, yet apparently, her competitor down the road was thriving, despite the fact that she was charging far more.

In response to this, I asked her why she thought this might be?  She replied that she wasn't sure? So I then asked her, what time and thought she had devoted to creating her branding strategy and brand identity?  What I discovered is that she had not priotised developing her brand strategy at all, or given it any of the time and attention that it deserved, or that was necessary for her business success.

As I hear so many times over, she had asked a friend ‘who was good with computers’ to create a logo for her, which she said was not what she had hoped for and which she felt was poorly designed. Yet, she continued to use it, rather than risk upsetting her well-meaning friend.  Furthermore, her husband had created a make shift website for her, which she said, was visually unattractive, hard to navigate and which did not show up on the search engines. But again, her husband meant well, was proud of what he'd achieved, with no experience, so she did not want risk offending her husband.  It saved her money and would do for the 'time being' she decided.

To top this off, she had created her own brochures, stationery and marketing materials, which she said were poorly designed, printed on flimsy paper and not consistent with her logo and website. She confessed, everthing was mash up.  It was messy, low budget and inconsistent.  Put simply, she had no Brand Strategy, no Brand Identify and no Brand consistency.  Her brand was NOT conveying the value of her products and services.  So, is it any wonder that her customers were not prepared to pay her prices? Yet they were prepared to pay FAR MORE to her competitor down the road?  I think not!  This is no co-incidence.

When you have good, high quality marketing and convey the right marketing messages, you do not have any serious competition and you are not forced to compete on price.

Sadly, this scenario is typical of what I see and why I refer to it as “accidental branding.”  Because there has been no thought or strategy behind developing a brand identity or marketing messages that communicate the high value and quality that you ultimately wish to convey.

By adopting an accidental branding approach, this business owner,  was failing to communicate the value that her brand represented.  She was failing to build recognition and  trust.  She was failing to attract the right customers to her business.  She was not differentiating herself from the competition. Furthermore, her haphazard branding approach was forcing her to compete on price. In doing so she was attracting the wrong cutomers to her business.  She was attracting difficult customers, with a negative mindset, who always want things on the cheap and who haven a tendancy to complain, rather than attracting her dream customers, who are positive and optimisitc and who are willing and prepared to pay more.

So, now do you see why developing a strong Brand Strategy is so vitally important to the success of your Baby Casting or Keepsake Jewellery Business?

Hopefully you can see from this quick example, that Branding is about far more than simply designing a pretty logo and throwing it out there in the hope that something sticks.

In fact, what most new business owners do not realise, is that there are actually four strategically important components to developing a successful Brand Strategy, which should never be overlooked, including:
